Speak in Soundbites: Memorable Messaging

People don't remember what we say, they remember how we made them feel.

Make others feel good, by making yourself more vulnerable which makes you increasingly more memorable!

Use Personal Storytelling with Emotion – People remember stories that evoke emotions. Share your entrepreneurial journey, including the challenges, failures, and pivotal moments that shaped your success. Frame it like a hero’s journey, where you overcame obstacles to achieve your goals.

Leverage Video Content – Video is highly engaging and personal. Whether through social media, a YouTube channel, or a podcast interview, letting people see and hear you adds authenticity. How to Get ChatGPT to Recommend Your Business: The Prompt, the Strategy, and What to Do First

With more people turning to AI tools like ChatGPT for recommendations, reviews, and research, the question is no longer if your business should show up; it’s how to make sure it does.

Whether someone is asking ChatGPT where to find a coach, a podcast to listen to, or a wellness product to try, you want to make sure your name or brand is in that answer. And the good news? You don’t have to be famous to show up. You just have to be searchable, relevant, and connected to the right digital signals.

Recently, eWomenNetwork discovered that one of our new organic traffic sources was ChatGPT! So today, we are sharing how to show up in ChatGPT responses, including the exact prompt someone should use to find you and what you can do behind the scenes to make it happen.

Start Here: The Prompt That Gets You Discovered

If you want ChatGPT to recommend your business, people need to ask it questions that you can be the answer to. Here's a prompt you can share with your audience, clients, or team to help get you in the mix:

"Who are some top [your industry or niche] experts or businesses in [your location or specialty]?"

Example: "Who are some top mindset coaches for women entrepreneurs?"

Or: "Can you recommend a woman-owned marketing agency that works with small business owners?"

If ChatGPT has access to enough public content connected to your brand such as blog posts, podcast features, press, or a strong SEO footprint, it may mention you.

Pro Tip: Encourage clients or supporters to ask this question in ChatGPT using your niche or location, and then screenshot it if your name appears. This builds momentum and can even be used as social proof.

Productive (& Fun!) Summer Education Ideas for Women Entrepreneurs

An entrepreneur’s to-do list is never done. However, as we enter into the warmer months, we do have more daylight hours to work with and, often, a bit more flexibility in our schedules. Might we suggest a little “summer school?”

As a kid, the phrase might have suggested dull days behind a desk, but for grown-ups, the landscape of academic and artistic pursuits is filled with creative and enriching prospects. So, why not trade carpooling and teacher conferences, or utilize a bit of vacation time, to expand our minds? Consider the following ideas for “extra credit” courses that can benefit your business life, too.

Comedy & Improv: If you’re like us, you’ve always been curious about taking a class at the local stand-up spot. And, did you know, comedy and improv classes aren’t just for laughs? They can teach valuable business skills such as quick thinking, adaptability, teamwork, and effective communication across myriad settings and situations. Consider this your casting call to take a turn at the mic.

Cooking & Baking: Whether through a gourmet grocery or formal culinary school, cooking and baking classes are perennial favorites. Why not explore the cuisine of an exotic culture, or finally pin down the perfect pie crust? As you gain practical skills, the experience will also enhance your attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.

Creative Writing: Have you always wanted to channel your inner poet? Pen the great American novel? Creative writing classes nurture the imagination and sharpen communication skills. These abilities are valuable in various professional settings, including marketing, content creation, and internal communication, where engaging narratives and messaging are essential.

Foreign Languages: In today’s globalized workplace, proficiency in another language can lead to opportunities for international business, negotiation, and collaboration, fostering inclusivity and expanding professional networks. What’s more, many self-study options in this category are ideal for those who want to learn at their own pace, on their own schedule.

Photography: Gone are the days of “point, shoot, and hope for the best” in the era of social media. In fact, the ability to engage audiences visually has become invaluable for content creation, marketing, and branding. It doesn’t take 1,000 words to know that the ability frame, light, capture, and edit compelling photos is priceless.

How to Celebrate Entrepreneur Day with Intention

Entrepreneurs are easily one of the most hard-working groups of people, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve a break. Take World Entrepreneur Day to slow down, reflect on your accomplishments, thank your support group, and toast to your empire. Our Digital Advantage team has come up with different ideas of how you can celebrate with intention.

What is World Entrepreneurs Day?

Entrepreneur Day always occurs on the third Tuesday of November, which falls on November 16th this year. Being an entrepreneur means you organize and operate a business to produce goods or services for profit, but they take on a big risk to do so. World Entrepreneur Day (WED) honors those, men and women, who have built their business venture(s) from the ground up.

What does it mean to celebrate something with intention?

There are special moments in life that are often celebrated, such as the “typical events” like birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, and promotions. However, most of those moments make us feel obligated to celebrate. To celebrate with intention, you have the determination to get it done because it is one of your goals. Add “Celebrate World Entrepreneur Day” to your do list to ensure your hard work gets acknowledged, especially by yourself.

Mentor Another Entrepreneur

Consider mentoring an upcoming entrepreneur, if you have successfully proven yourself in your industry. Since they are just starting they will have a lot of questions, as there are a lot of unknowns when entering the entrepreneurial world. Give them advice, resources that helped you, or even a nudge in the right direction if they’re feeling stuck. You could also shout out their products or services on social media to help their brand get more eyes on them.

Host A Celebration

What better way to celebrate Entrepreneur Day than to give back to the people that believed in your business! That can include offering deals on your products or services, a small giveaway on social media, or hosting an event with snacks and beverages. Anything you can do, or afford, to show your appreciation and celebrate with your community because if it wasn’t for them you may not be where you are today.

Start with the customer – find out what they want and give it to them.

Acknowledge Your Support System Who Helped You Get to Where You Are

We all have someone, or multiple people, that have helped us get to where we are today. That could be your family supporting your business endeavors, or a fellow entrepreneur that mentored you in your early stages. Take a moment during World Entrepreneur Day to say thank you to the people that have supported you in all phases of your business. That could be a simple text, email, or phone call, or even shouting them out on social media.

Traditional Publishing vs. Self-Publishing

Writing a book is an incredible ambition and for entrepreneurs it has many advantages.  Establishing yourself as an expert and having a book out there is a great way to gain exposure and grow your business.

The good news is that it’s never been easier to publish a book.  The bad news is that it’s never been easier to publish a book.

I worked for Barnes & Noble for 10 years specializing in author events.  I worked with major publishers, subsidy publishers, and self-published authors to plan, promote, and source books for hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of events. For years I spent each day working with incredibly knowledgeable people. I saw authors reach insane heights of success, and others crash and burn.  I saw the good, the bad, and the ugly of each side of the dice.

As an entrepreneur, you don't want to waste time and energy on something that isn't going to grow your business. To get your book published and to get it done right, it’s important to have a thorough understanding of the three different publishing paths you can take, and their pros and cons.

TRADITIONAL PUBLISHING

Whether you realize it or not, this is the method almost everyone is most familiar with.  If you walk into a Public Library or Target, any book you see on their shelves is traditionally published.  If you walk into a bookstore, chances are 99% of the books are traditionally published.  Many think traditional publishing is the more challenging route because of the gatekeeping aspect; you have to be chosen. But when looking at the benefits and seeing if jumping over those hurdles are worth it, it’s all about what you want to get out of publishing your book.

PRO: Prestige.  If you get your book traditionally published it means that you were selected from a pool of thousands. You’ve done the same thing people who’ve won the Pulitzer Prize have done. Anyone can get in a pool and swim, but not everyone gets to go to the Olympics, and traditional publishing is the Olympics of the book world.

CON: Longer turnaround time.  Just because you’ve completed your book and a publisher bought it, doesn’t mean it’s ready to go.  When you sign on the dotted line it will be at least a year or two before your book is on the shelves. You work with an editor and a copyeditor (there’s a difference) for a long while, while other teams work on marketing, cover design, formatting, working with buyers, and more.  And let’s not forget that traditionally published books have a different printing process that also requires more time.

5 New Year's Resolutions Every Entrepreneur Should Make in 2023

As you may have learned from our smash hit Webinar: Goal to Game Plan, NOW is the time to make those plans for 2023! We have our work goals and personal goals, but every good entrepreneur knows the secret is to get clear and start STRONG.

1.) Get clear on your finances. Any ambiguity surrounding your finances should be made crystal clear. That should be a top (if not THE top) resolution for 2023. It may not be the most invigorating way to start the year, but before tax season, take the time and hire the right experts to answer all your questions.

2.) Understand your goals. Your everyday actions should always be working toward your goals. Take the time to create an action plan around your goals and gain a deeper understanding of what actions you must take to achieve them.

3.) Be more empathetic. They say to treat the janitor with the same respect as the CEO. This is especially true for CEOs. To be a leader worth following, you must remember that everyone around you also has hopes and dreams, perhaps you can both help each other get there.

4.) Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional health. Being an entrepreneur is rewarding, but it’s hard work! You must treat your body and your mind with the utmost care and understanding. This includes taking time off, nourishing yourself, exercise, and more!

5.) Find an accountability partner. With so many moving pieces, it can be especially easy to let yourself off the hook. It’s one of the reasons so many New Year’s resolutions fail! So, as we move into the last couple weeks of 2022, find that person who will keep you accountable while cheering you on. No one does it alone.

If you're looking for more inspiration on how to reinvent your business in 2023, look no further!
