How To Develop A Personal Brand That Grows With Your Business

When you first start your business, your personal brand may feel like an extension of yourself—who you are, what you stand for, and why you’re on this journey. But as your business grows and shifts, so will the story you tell. A personal brand that once felt perfect might no longer fully represent your vision today.

Building a personal brand that grows with your business means being willing to adapt while staying rooted in your core values. It’s a powerful tool to connect with your audience authentically, no matter where your business journey takes you.

Here’s how to develop a personal brand that grows with you.

Start With Your Core Values And Vision

Your personal brand should start from a foundation of what matters most to you. Your core values are the constants that should remain even as your business evolves. Start by identifying these values and weaving them into your brand messaging, website, and social media content.

Your core values are your north star. When you know the impact you want to create, your brand can reflect that purpose, making it easier to pivot as your business expands or your market shifts.

Try It Out: Write down three to five core values and a single sentence that sums up your vision. Keep these visible as a reminder.

Own Your Story As It Grows With You

A compelling personal brand tells a story, not just about what you do but about who you are and why you’re passionate about your work. Your background, challenges, and unique perspective are all part of this story.

As your business changes, don’t be afraid to update your brand story to reflect new growth, insights, and milestones.

Sharing your journey as it unfolds helps people connect with you. Remember, people want to do business with those that they know, like, and trust!

Try It Out: Revisit your “About” page and your bio to make sure they reflect where you are in your journey and any new lessons you’ve learned.

Keep A Consistent Visual Identity

As your brand evolves, you may feel the need to refresh your logo, website, color palette, or other elements of your visual identity. However, consistency is key here

When you refresh your visuals, look for ways to honor your existing brand identity while bringing in elements that reflect your current direction. This could mean updating your brand colors to feel more sophisticated, adding new photography that captures your evolving style, or updating your website layout for a more professional feel.

Try It Out: Review your brand’s visuals. Ask yourself if they still reflect the message and personality you want to convey. Make small updates rather than a total overhaul unless there’s a significant shift in your business.

3 Things to Check Before You Pivot in Your Business

Every business owner hits that moment. You look at your offers, your messaging, your calendar, or maybe even your entire business and wonder about what’s not working. Maybe sales have slowed down, you’ve outgrown your audience, or you're just feeling unmotivated or out of alignment.

So the natural next thought becomes: “Should I pivot?”

Sometimes, yes. A pivot is exactly what’s needed. But often, what we call a pivot is really a pause for clarity and a chance to fine-tune instead of reinvent.

If you’re standing at a crossroads, here are three things to check before you make a big move in your business.

Are You Clear on What’s Actually Not Working?

Sometimes frustration stems from something upstream. You might be tired, under-supported, or trying to grow without a solid system in place. That doesn’t always mean your idea is wrong. It might just mean your approach needs a reset. Before you rewrite your entire offer or rebrand your business, pause to discover what specifically feels off right now.

Is it your pricing or your positioning?

Is it your offer or how you’re marketing it?

Is it your business or just your bandwidth?

Get curious, not reactive. Clarity lives on the other side of asking better questions.

Try It Out: Take 10 minutes to journal or voice-note through these questions:

What’s draining me right now?

Where am I not seeing the results I want—and why might that be?

If I had to fix just one thing this month, what would it be?

The Missing Framework That Helps Passionate Entrepreneurs Build Profitable Businesses

Today, we are excited to welcome LuAnn Buechler, one of our Premier Success Coaches, to the eWomenNetwork blog as our guest writer. In the article below, LuAnn shares a formula we can use to ensure our pricing reflects our true value. Welcome, LuAnn!

You are passionate about what you do. You are driven by purpose. You want to make a difference—and make a living doing it.

And yet… something still feels off.

You have tried the strategies, the planners, the courses. You have put in the hours. But the consistent growth—and the income, you know is possible still feel out of reach.

You are far from alone. Passion-fueled entrepreneurs often follow all the advice but lack the structure to fully support their vision. The solution lies beyond more hustle—it is a simple, powerful framework that helps you stay aligned, focused, and consistently moving forward.

That is exactly what I offer through the Make Your Passion Pay Playbook—a set of core business-building principles that every entrepreneur deserves, yet many never fully implement. This framework fills the gap between inspiration and execution. It gives purpose-driven entrepreneurs the roadmap they need to create sustainable growth while staying true to their vision.

Let’s explore the four aspects of this framework that have helped countless entrepreneurs turn their passion into profit.

1. Your Business Needs More Than Strategy - It Needs Soul!

There is no shortage of marketing tactics, social media trends, or productivity tools. You can download free checklists all day long. But none of those matter if your business feels disconnected from your truth. Your authentic soul.

The entrepreneurs who create lasting success do more than implement strategies—they build businesses that reflect their deepest values, purpose, and vision. Their success stems from alignment and concise action.

My dear friend and mentor, Dr. Ivan Misner, founder of BNI (Business Network International) says “Culture eats strategy for Breakfast.” No matter what strategy you apply, with no soul, no culture, your business will struggle.

When you build from the inside out—with a foundation that honors who you are and what truly matters to you—you unlock a whole new level of motivation and clarity. Suddenly, decisions become easier. Marketing feels more authentic. Clients are attracted to you and your energy because your business reflects the real you.

Soul-centered strategy drives the kind of success that builds culture and feels deeply fulfilling.

How to Master DIY Photo Editing in 5 Steps

It’s easy to get into trouble when editing your own pics, but our tips take out the guesswork.

As a woman entrepreneur, crafting a visually appealing online presence is essential for attracting customers and building your brand. One powerful tool in your arsenal is photo editing, but as the recent royal controversy has taught us, even a princess can blunder with this seemingly simple task.

Whether you're enhancing product images for your e-commerce site, curating a stunning Instagram feed, or simply buffing out the occasional stray hair, mastering the art of photo editing can take your visuals to the next level.

Here are five tips to help you edit your own photos like a pro:

Start with the Right Tools: First things first, let’s ensure you have the right digital tools. While professional software suites offer extensive capabilities, they can be overwhelming for do-it-yourselfers. Instead, choose user-friendly apps like CanvaSnapseed, or Adobe Lightroom, which provide powerful editing features in a more streamlined interface.

Focus on Lighting: Good lighting can make or break a photo, and it starts well before you “say cheese.” When shooting, aim for natural light whenever possible, to create a soft, flattering effect. If shooting indoors, position yourself (or your subject) near a window or invest in a ring light to mimic natural light. No matter the setting, light should hit from the front rather than the rear. During editing, adjust brightness, contrast, and exposure to enhance the overall lighting of your photos.

Don't Overdo It: While it can be tempting to apply every editing tool at your disposal, less is often more when it comes to photo editing. Avoid excessive filters, heavy retouching, or unnatural alterations that can detract from the authenticity of your images. The finished product should still look like real life (rather than animation or AI).

Keep Careful Count: It may seem like it goes without saying, but keep an eye on arms, legs, fingers, and toes. Many an amateur editor has inadvertently blotted, blurred, or brushed one (or more) of these essential elements away. Additionally, though it may be tempting, cropping out a close companion while leaving a tell-tale hand, ear, or shoulder in the shot is also a no-no.

Consistency is Key: Lastly, to maintain a cohesive brand aesthetic across your online platforms, establish a signature editing style through consistent editing techniques. This not only creates a visually appealing feed but also helps your audience recognize and connect with your brand more easily. Need inspiration? Try studying the work of other Successful Women Entrepreneurs or influencers to spark new ideas for your own editing style.

By choosing the right tools and using our tips, you'll be editing your own photos like a pro in no time. And remember, mastering photo editing is a journey, so don't be afraid to experiment and learn from your mistakes. Above all, let your unique brand personality and brand shine through in every image. Happy editing!

Future-Proofing Your Business: A Woman Entrepreneur's Guide to Succession Planning

In the realm of entrepreneurship, the journey of building and nurturing a business is filled with countless challenges and triumphs. For women entrepreneurs, who often juggle multiple roles both within and outside their businesses, thinking about succession planning can feel like a distant priority. However, the importance of having a solid succession plan cannot be overstated—it's the ultimate strategy for future-proofing your business. This guide delves into the critical aspects of succession planning for women entrepreneurs, ensuring that your legacy and hard work endure.

The Essence of Succession Planning

Succession planning is the process of identifying and developing new leaders who can replace old leaders when they leave, retire, or pass away. It's about ensuring the continuity of your business and preserving its values, culture, and vision. For women entrepreneurs, succession planning also represents an opportunity to empower the next generation of female leaders.

Understanding the Stakes

The absence of a succession plan can lead to uncertainty, conflict, and even the demise of a business during transitional periods. Considering that many women-led businesses are closely tied to the personal brand and leadership style of their founders, the stakes are especially high. A well-crafted succession plan safeguards against these risks, providing a roadmap for a smooth transition.

Key Components of a Successful Succession Plan

A robust succession plan for women entrepreneurs should address several key components to ensure its effectiveness.

Identifying Potential Successors

Start by identifying potential successors within your organization who embody the company's ethos and have the potential to lead. This could be a family member, a long-term employee, or a mentee. Involving them early in leadership activities and decision-making processes can prepare them for future roles.

Leadership Development

Investing in leadership development is crucial. This can include formal training, mentoring, and providing opportunities for potential successors to gain experience in various aspects of the business. For women entrepreneurs, this also means fostering an environment where female employees are encouraged to aspire to leadership positions.

Legal and Financial Considerations

Ensure that your succession plan includes clear legal and financial guidelines to prevent disputes and ensure continuity. This might involve updating your will, setting up trusts, or creating buy-sell agreements, especially in partnerships. Consulting with legal and financial advisors who understand the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs is advisable.

A Strong Heart Leads to a Healthy Business

Yeah, yeah you've heard it a million times. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for men and women in the United States. And, like Charlie Brown, you're only hearing "wah-wah-wah, wah wah." You're just too busy running a business and a household to deal with this right now, right? Wrong! Besides the fact that someone proclaimed February, "American Heart Month,"  you need a strong heart to run a healthy business.

Heart Risks for the Business Owner

Long Working Hours

Whether you work for yourself or you're a worker-bee, a recent study from the Journal of Occupational Health and Medicine determined that the more hours someone worked per week, on average, the more likely he or she was to be diagnosed heart disease. On average, entrepreneurs work anywhere from 52-60 hours a week, which is 63% longer than the average worker.

What the study actually says...

"After controlling for factors including age, sex and income, the researchers determined that, over a 10-year period, participants who worked a 55-hour-week were 16 percent more likely to be diagnosed with heart disease diagnosis than those who only worked 45 hours per week. As the number of work hours per week increased, so did this relative risk. Participants who worked 60 hours per week were 35 percent more likely to be diagnosed with heart disease than those who worked 45 hours, while those who worked 70-hour-weeks were 74 percent more likely.
