The Thankful Entrepreneur

Intentional gratitude practice does wonders for the soul, but also for your business plan.  We attract the energy we put out. When we’re internally in the mode of “me, me, me” people can tell whether we open our mouths to say it or not. Gratitude is as much about being thankful for what you have as it is a commitment to improving the lives of others. With the leaves changing and turkey in the oven, there’s no better time to reflect on the things we’re thankful for and ways that gratitude can grow your business.

Create a gratitude culture. It’s right there in eWN’s values. “Giving first, sharing always”. Creating a culture of gratitude within your organization starts at the top. Leading by example and doing it daily (even when things get rough) is paramount to creating a culture of gratitude. Recognize good work and say thank you.

Write thank you notes. When most of the world is a slave to email, handwritten thank you cards sent through the post, stand out. If you just had a meeting with a potential client, send a thank you card.  If you receive a referral from an existing client, send a thank you card. If it’s not already a regular habit for you, it might feel like overkill, but it’s not.  People remember when you go the extra mile. And who doesn’t love receiving mail that’s not a bill?

Make connections. Not just for you, for your customers too.  We all want glowing referrals, show your clients that you prioritize their success as well as your own by sending those referrals their way. Connecting your customers builds strength and trust in your network. Being the one to give referrals cements your place as a leader in your industry and in your community.

Acknowledge the milestones. Birthdays, weddings, babies, graduations, if you know about them acknowledge them!  Clients, employees, contractors, acknowledge them all. Send every client, employee, and contractor a birthday card.  Not an email, a physical card. Yes, it can be a lot to keep up with, but when growing your business, it’s important to take a beat and remember that everyone in your network is not just a client, employee, potential sale, etc.  They are people with full lives and major priorities that may have nothing to do with business at all.

How Radical Self Care is Tied to the Money You Make

Women entrepreneurs often leave money on the table because most haven't been taught to ask for what they want and deserve. When women take time to take care of themselves physically, emotionally, and intellectually, and spend time doing things that add value and meaning to their lives, they gain the confidence needed to ask for and receive exactly what they deserve.

In this soul-searching session, Tiffany will:

  • 1. Discuss the importance of taking time for yourself.
  • 2. Show you how self-care gives you confidence that bleeds into every aspect of your life – including your business interactions.
  • 3. Give you a vision of what’s possible for your business as a result of self-care.

Ways to Improve Internal Processes During a Pandemic

Has your business slowed down? Are you putting certain aspects on pause? We’re here to let you know that it is completely normal. Many businesses are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, 96 percent of small business owners say their businesses have been impacted.
However, that doesn’t mean that this is the end - it’s the start of redirection. This means it’s time to focus on other aspects of your business that you may not have had time for without a pandemic. One aspect we’re highlighting in this article is focused on internal processes, which include revising goals, restructuring roles, and reorganizing information.
Consider these tips for your business through the pandemic to elevate processes moving forward:
Restructure Roles
If your business is being impacted, then that most likely means that your team members are, as well. It’s time to evaluate each position and what role it plays in meeting your business goals. This may include shifting one member to a new role, restructuring what a current role does, and possibly getting rid of a specific role altogether. It can be overwhelming to deal with this during an uncertain time, but be sure to look at your options and take the time necessary to make rational decisions.
We want to emphasize the importance of caring for your team members during a pandemic. If your restructuring includes letting certain members go, consider other areas you could look into cutting costs first. Read full blog....

Fear Signature Moves & What's Being Asked of You

It started with not being able to buy toilet paper. Then diet coke. Then chicken. Now COVID -19 has you working from home and taking your business online. You’re practicing social distancing and you’re not sure what plans to put in place because there is plenty of confusion, complexity and uncertainty at this moment. Less than two weeks ago, you were wondering - why toilet paper hoarding? It was a fear signature move in action from the unconscious due to security and safety concerns. Every person, client and business will express fear in their actions when uncertainty is present.

The uncertainty of this moment brings out fear in people. You may not feel it as fear but it is. It will show up in so many other ways personally and professionally. This virus puts us on heightened alert and our adrenalin revs up. It can show up as anxiety, poor decision making or being paralyzed in your thinking. All of us will be affected in some way as business owners revise plans, events get canceled and business slows down. This situation may bring up fears from prior circumstances and contribute directly to what you are experiencing now.

Turn your leadership into a resource so fear melts…..

Lead you first - Have a protocol for taking care of your health and energy and ways to combat fear and anxiety.

Lead your family - Manage and lead the emotional tone of your family.

Lead your clients - Call them and with certainty discuss a plan for now and a plan when the virus passes and business gears up. Give them more time. They are looking to you for your leadership. Give it to them.

Lead your business - Show up. Regroup. Your business will talk to you. Listen. You need to be able to show the value you bring to your clients. Messaging is key right now to your community. Reposition and pivot if necessary.

Lead your team - Take care of them and they will take care of you.

Here you are…. witnessing what’s going on in the world today…. changing daily - Ooze. Sumo. Wiggle. Welcome. You’ll be glad you did. Read full blog...
